We are so very fortunate to have a place to park right on Key West, just a short bike ride of a few blocks to downtown! We plan on staying for a couple of weeks. This afternoon, we drove all over the island, from one end to the other - I took pictures (as I drove along slowly) if some lovely, gracious homes. We stood (along with a dozen other people) at the southernmost point in the U.S. We had dinner downtown in an outdoor patio, pinching ourselves to realize we really are here. We walked down to Mallory Square for the sunset - thousands of people there, along with street entertainers and people selling all kinds of junk (almost entirely!). Tonight, we're sitting in our camper, each on our PC's, and having to listen to our neighbor's generator....really we only need the generator to (1) make coffee in the morning, (2) use the microwave....and that's about it! So, what we're thinking is that they can't live without TV? We are fortunate to have solar panels that keep the camper batteries charged.
We enjoyed the day so much - there's a nice breeze blowing to make sleeping pleasant. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
