Tuesday, Feb 15, 2011 - exploring Trumbo!

This morning, we took our bikes and explored Fleming Key, which is a part of the Coast Guard base here.  Found a place where we could snorkel, a little sheltered, not in a shipping channel!  Good view of the harbor where the cruise ships come in.
This afternoon we went back out to Stock Island, bought some shrimp and 2 lobster tails - dinner! We had found a place the other day that had a used Hobie inflatable two-person kayak for sale.  Dan researched it online, thought about it, and decided to buy it.  So, we went there today, dickered a bit, and finally Dan and the owner of the place agreed on a price.  Tomorrow, I'm guessing there'll be some kayaking to be done.
This evening, we socialized with some of the campers here, who have been coming here for years - interesting.  They told me of a place on the Coast Guard pier where you get good views of the sunset - so, take a look at the pictures.  Wow!
For our meal this evening, we first had a few shrimp as an appetizer.  Then, Dan grilled the two lobster tails.  Those, along with baked potatoes and green beans made our delectable dinner.  To our dismay, we discovered that the only wine we had left from what we thought was a plentiful supply was some Muscatel - a bit sweet, but, oh well, you get what you get!  Anyway, what a meal!  Enjoy the pictures!
